Wade feeling pressure after glove errors

Australia wicketkeeper Matthew Wade knows his glove work has not been up to scratch, and says he puts a lot of pressure on himself to perform well and is disappointed with his recent efforts.
Wade has only played seven Tests for the Baggy Green, but has made some notable errors, including missed stumpings against Graeme Smith in Adelaide, a dropped catch off Faf du Plessis (who ended up saving the game for the Proteas), and a missed stumping in Hobart against Sri Lanka.
The young keeper took the place behind the stumps away from veteran Brad Haddin, who is in great form with the bat domestically, but Wade says the pressure he puts on himself is greater than what outsiders can heap on him.
Wade said of his stumping errors: "I'm disappointed. I don't need to read what's printed or what's said in the media to get disappointed or for me to be thinking about my glovework.
"You can't miss chances behind the stumps - it's as simple as that, especially in Test cricket. I'm thankful this one (in Hobart) didn't cost us as much as what it did in Adelaide."
He then added: "If I'm going to dwell on that, it's going to eat me up, so I've got to look forward at ways to improve."
Wade admitted that the pressure at Test level was more than he'd expected, and he now had even more respect for players who had over 100 caps under their belts, like former skipper Ricky Ponting.
The Tasmanian said: "It gives me so much more respect for people who have been playing Test match cricket for 10 or 15 years and been doing it day in, day out.
"It's an amazing achievement to think Ricky Ponting played 160 Test matches. It seems a long way when you've played seven, but I'm sure he didn't think he was going to play 160."
Wade's performance with the bat has been improving though, and he scored 68 in the last Test against South Africa in Perth, and again made that score in Hobart, pushing his average up to 39.
