KEVIN Pietersen's tribulations seemed unending last week. Dropped from the England cricket team despite a grovelling apology, the South African-born batsman was out for a first-ball duck yesterday.
Playing for his county, Surrey, in a 40-overs match against Hampshire, in Southampton, he was bowled by Liam Dawson.
Pietersen will know his cricketing future with England tomorrow when the Twenty20 squad for next month's World Cup is named.
Pietersen was axed by England when he did not deny that he had sent SMSes to the South African team that were abusive of Strauss and suggested to the Proteas how to get the captain out.
England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Lord MacLaurin told the BBC that, if the allegations are proved, Pietersen will probably not play for England again.
