Springbok backline coach Ricardo Loubscher says his team's preparations for Saturday's clash with the Wallabies have been focussed on getting over the gain-line.

The Boks were heavily criticised after their 16-16 draw with Argentina but judging by comments coming out of the South African camp this week, there is little chance of a change in game plan.

Instead the Boks are concentrating on making sure they dominate the breakdown in the hope that their backs will make better use of the opportunities they get.

"Australia will be a different challenge for us but our focus this week has been purely on us as a team," Loubscher told reporters in a wet and windy Perth on Tuesday.

"We had a look at our performance against the Pumas and we are focussing on our attack and the things that we have to do well.

"Our focus point as a team is the gain-line and we want to make sure that whatever we do, whether it is off first phase or second phase, is to get over the advantage line and it definitely has an impact on the backs if you get slow ball. The ideal situation is to get quick ball but we have spoken about it and it is something that we need to sort out.

"The backline created some good chances and got a lot of momentum especially in the wider channels. But it is not enough to create chances if you don't convert them into points so that has been an area we have focussed on.

"It is about the execution of our kicks and the chasing lines. We are not worried too much about whether they are going to counter-attack, we just want to make sure that we execute our kicks well and we will get the results and opportunities that we want."
