Manie Reyneke believes the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) will go from strength to strength under new leadership.

Reyneke stepped down as chief executive of the GLRU on Tuesday.

“Being a part of the Lions was a lifelong dream come true, but it is now time to move on,” Reyneke said.

“I am pleased with what has been achieved during my four years as CEO of the union and I leave with no regrets.

“The structures put in place will see the union go from strength to strength over the next few years.”

The GLRU said Reyneke would assist in restructuring the union over the next three months.

“I’m not 100% sure what I’ll do thereafter, but I do have several options,” Reyneke said.

While the GLRU began the process of finding a replacement for Reyneke, Ruben Moggee would fill the chief executive’s post in an acting role and would be assisted by the board of directors.
