Sharks coach John Plumtree has welcomed back Louis Ludik, Charl McLeod and Anton Bresler to his line-up for Saturday's Currie Cup clash against the Lions.

The experienced trio will add plenty of bite to Sharks side who know that the visiting Lions will be looking to maintain the kind of form that saw them crowned Currie Cup champs last year.

There are two changes to the backline, with Ludik and McLeod displacing Gouws Prinsloo and Cobus Reinach to the bench, and Bresler returning to take up his Super Rugby partnership with Steven Sykes in the second row.

The final change sees Jacques Botes moving to number eight in place of Tera Mtembu with Francois Kleinhans handed a gilt-edged opportunity with his first-ever start for the Sharks.

The Sharks: 15 Louis Ludik, 14 Odwa Ndungane, 13 Paul Jordaan, 12 Meyer Bosman, 11 S'bura Sithole, 10 Riaan Viljoen, 9 Charl McLeod, 8 Jacques Botes, 7 Jean Deysel (c), 6 Francois Kleinhans, 5 Anton Bresler, 4 Steven Sykes, 3 Wiehahn Herbst, 2 Craig Burden, 1 Dale Chadwick.

Replacements: 16 Monde Hadebe, 17 Julian Redelinghuys, 18 Jandre Marais, 19 Lubabalo Mtembu, 20 Cobus Reinach, 21 Marius Joubert, 22 Gouws Prinsloo.
