EMBATTLED Bok flyhalf Morne Steyn was given the thumbs up by the Bulls yesterday.

Steyn, who was booed at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium for his below-par performance for the Springboks in Port Elizabeth last Saturday, is back in the Bulls' starting team to play the Cheetahs this weekend.

Coach Frans Ludeke is confident his match-winner will resume his usually impeccable service .

"Morné is very comfortable with himself," Ludeke assured.

"He is keen to rectify matters. He knows his ability.

"We are positive and we believe in him."

The Bulls certainly need Steyn to fire on all cylinders if they want to arrest the slide that has seen them lose their last three matches.

Their prospects of their superiority at the end of the league stages will vanish if they slip up to the Cheetahs for the first time in Super rugby.

Apart from Steyn, there are other returning Springboks hoping to perform better in the coming weeks.

The Bulls will have an all-Springbok pack after the latest Bok addition, Jacques Potgieter, to the starting XV.

Potgieter, who missed the match against the Stormers due to a knee injury, is back at flank in the place of Ireland-bound CJ Stander.

Dewald Potgieter will go toe to toe with Heinrich Brussow, who must be aching to impress the national selectors.

"Dewald is a natural opensider. He's a good allrounder, a typical No8. His decision-making is very good," Ludeke said.

"He knows when to go in at the breakdowns - and when to stay out.

"He's a good ball carrier and he is a little different in that he attacks space. He's an intelligent player."

The Cheetahs have opted to retain Riaan Smit at flyhalf, while Willie le Roux has been included at fullback.
