Downs reject Russian offer for Xulu
Mamelodi Sundowns have rejected an improved offer from Russian outfit FC Rostov for highly rated defender Siyanda Xulu.
The Bafana Bafana centre-back recently underwent trials with the European club and impressed enough to earn a reported 400,000 euro (R4.15 million) bid for his services.
However, the Brazilians had scoffed at that offer and revealed they would be holding out for an improved bid, although Rostov's most recent proposal, thought to be around R5m, has now also been tossed aside by the Tshwane giants.
The PSL outfit's decision to stall on any deal has left the player in footballing limbo, with the 20-year-old yet to be registered by the club due to the uncertainty of his future in South Africa.
As a result he missed out on Sundowns' 2-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday, and is also likely to sit out their upcoming tie against Maritzburg United.
