Atletico give Chelsea a football lesson

Atletico Madrid staged a footballing masterclass to crush Chelsea 4-1 in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday evening.
Chelsea, winners of the Champions League, met Europa League winners Atletico and the English side were overwhelmed by their Spanish opponents.
But it was a Colombian who really stole the show as Radamel Falcao hit a first half hat-trick, every one of his strikes with his left foot, leaving anyone who saw it asking 'is this the best striker in the world?'
He gave notice in the fourth minute when he hit the bar with a header. The warning went unheeded by Chelsea and in the seventh minute, Falcao shot across Petr Cech and scored in off the post.
And just 12 minutes later he hit a sublime curling shot into the top corner to which Chelsea had no answer. Falcao's third almost came in the 36th minute when he was again denied by a post. But on the stroke of half time he got his third. Chelsea were cut apart by precision passing and Falcao finished clinically, shooting through Cech's legs.
The intensity dropped in the second half but not the dominance of Atletico. On the hour it was the turn of Brazilian defender Joao Miranda De Souza to shoot home from close range after Chelsea failed to react to a free kick floated into the penalty area.
Atletico understandably eased up after that and Chelsea's Gary Cahill scored from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Normally you would call it a consolation but nothing could console Chelsea after this comprehensive outclassing in Monaco.
