Former Chelsea boss Andres Villa-Boas will be named new Tottenham manager later this week, according to reports in north London.
The Portuguese tactician joined Chelsea at the beginning of last season as a Primeira Liga title winner with FC Porto, but was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge after less than nine months at the helm.
The 34-year-old had been tipped with taking over the managerial reins at Sao Paulo, but it now looks certain he will succeed Harry Redknapp at Spurs after turning down the offer to coach the Brazilian giants.
Villas-Boas, whose Blues contract stated he could only sign for another Premier League team after July 1, has already held discussions with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and it is believed an announcement will be made in the coming days.
