Fiorentina make offer for Arsenal's Chamakh
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Serie A outfit Fiorentina have submitted a bid for striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Morocco international signed with the Gunners as a free agent in May 2010.
He scored 11 times in all formats during his maiden season in England, but saw his form fade badly following a promising start.
Chamakh was benched for much of the 2011/12 campaign, netting just once in 19 appearances.
With Arsenal having their attacking ranks boosted by the recruitment of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, the 28-year-old would appear to have slipped even further down the pecking order.
The north London club may be tempted to cash in on the former Bordeaux man during the current transfer window, with Fiorentina showing an interest in the striker who is noted for his aerial prowess.
"Fiorentina requested information on his availability and made an offer," said Wenger.
