Torres wanted at Old Trafford
Atletico Madrid's teenage midfielder Oliver Torres has rejected talk of a loan move to Manchester United for the upcoming season.
The Red Devils are reportedly keen on the 17-year-old, who admits he would rather continue his football development in Spain.
Sir Alex Ferguson's scouts are believed to have watched the youngster in March following impressive displays in the Copa Atletico, where he was named Player of the Tournament.
Torres followed up his star performances in the Under-19 European Championship that saw Spain crowned as champions.
But the talented playmaker insists his priority remains to become a regular in Atleti's first team after only joining up with the squad for pre-season training this year.
He told AS: "I would not accept a loan deal because that would be hard for me.
"I have had a chance to leave before and I have not done so because my dream has always been to stay here and be a success with Atletico de Madrid.
"Now I hope that one day Cholo (coach Diego Simeone) has confidence in me and I can show him that I am ready.
"I am conscious that I am still only 17 and that I have to work hard in order to succeed."
