Frank Lampard has hailed Eden Hazard's Premier League debut as "brilliant" following Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Wigan on Sunday.
The Blues' big-money summer signing wasted no time in making his mark on England's top-flight, setting up Branislav Ivanovic for the first before winning a penalty which Lampard duly slotted home.
Hazard joined the west London club with plenty of expectation behind him, and Lampard feels the player did very well to cope with the pressures of the Premier League.
The England midfielder told Sky Sports: "He (Hazard) was brilliant. It's a young age to come into the Premier League, no matter how good of a player you are.
"He showed the quality he has with the spin and the ball to put Ivanovic through and he showed great speed to get away from his man for the penalty. He was great to play with."
Lampard went on to reveal his delight at starting the new season with a win, adding: "It was a great start to the game. You always want to get a win on the opening day of the season."
