Dynamo Kiev and Panathinaikos makes solid starts

Dynamo Kiev and Panathinaikos won first leg matches in the third round of qualifying for the Champions League on Tuesday.
Dynamo Kiev beat 1970 European Cup champion Feyenoord 2-1 after an own goal from Dutch midfielder Lex Immers in the 56th minute and a 69th-minute strike from forward Ideye Aide Brown. Winger Ruben Schaken gave Feyenoord a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute.
Panathinaikos won 2-0 at Scottish club Motherwell with goals from forward Lazaros Christodoulopoulos in the 14th and from midfielder Charis Mavrias in the 76th.
Feyenoord is at home to Dynamo Kiev on Aug. 7 and Panathinaikos will host Motherwell on Aug. 8 in the second legs.
Celtic, Fenerbahce, Club Brugge, FC Copenhagen, Dinamo Zagreb, Anderlecht and FC Basel are in action among other clubs on Wednesday.
