Veteran AC Milan midfielder and captain Massimo Ambrosini has committed himself to another season with the Serie A runners-up, the Italian club announced on Wednesday.
“The captain has extended his contract until June 30, 2013,” the club said.
Ambrosini, 34, arrived in 1995 and has won two Champions Leagues and four Serie A titles among other trophies while also winning 35 caps, the last of which was back in 2008.
He did spend one season away from Milan, on loan to Vicenza during the 1997-98 campaign.
AC Milan finished second behind Juventus this season.
