Supersport United midfielder Franklin Cale is hoping his debut goal against Free State Stars is just the first of many this season.
Cale joined Matsatsantsa from Mamelodi Sundowns last month following a frustrating time on the sidelines under Brazilians coach Johan Neeskens, although he already looks a new player at United following his headed effort in the draw against Ea Lla Koto last Wednesday.
The winger looked threatening again in Supersport's next clash, the 2-1 victory against Golden Arrows on Saturday, and he admits he is delighted to have been handed a a lifeline under Gavin Hunt.
"I am very excited about my new move, and my team-mates gave me a very warm welcome and I am looking forward to my stay at Supersport United," he told the official PSL website.
Looking back on his first run out for the club, Cale added: "I have always dreamt of scoring on debuts as it is very motivating as a player to achieve that and I always set a target for myself, especially if I move to a new club.
"Usually I would aim for 10 or 15 goals a season, but it is middle of the season and I just hope to get goals for United to get the results we need."
The former Ajax Cape Town man will be hoping to once more impress when Hunt's charges welcome AmaZulu to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the PSL clash on Saturday evening.
