MVUZO Mbebe, the local organising committee CEO, is fighting to make tickets for the 2013 Nations Cup "affordable" to regular South Africa football fans.
"Our target is very simple, that the tickets must be affordable," said Mbebe.
The organising committee and its board members will, in the coming weeks, begin discussions around filling the stadiums during Africa's biggest soccer tournament.
Mbebe said this was to avoid criticism suffered by previous hosts Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, who failed to achieve capacity crowds for the competition held from January 21 to February 12 this year.
Concerns have already been raised regarding ticket prices for the Nations Cup, with most people fearing the 2010 World Cup system would be used.
South Africa will stage the event from January 19 to February 10, with Mbombela Stadium, Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Royal Bafokeng Stadium and Moses Mabhida Stadium as host venues.
Soccer City will host the opening and closing ceremonies.
