Orlando Pirates have reportedly had their bid for Democratic Republic of Congo international Diego Mutombo turned down by AS V Club.
Reports this week claimed the 23-year-old was set to travel to Soweto to undergo trials with the Buccaneers, with a view to signing a full-time contract with the double treble champions.
However, the Congolese press have revealed the club, who currently top the domestic league standings, are unwilling to part with their star player.
Mutombo began his playing career at FC St Eloi Lupopo in Lubumbashi before moving to the Kinshasa-based team, and recently earned his first international cap.
