TSEPO Masilela will return to full training in the next few days and hopefully his future may be clearer by then.
The Bafana Bafana left-back has attracted the interest of Spain, France and Germany, but has so far been unable to undergo a medical at any prospective new club.
He injured a knee in Bafana's 1-1 draw with Ethiopia in a 2014 World Cup qualifier last month, having battled with constant niggles in the final few weeks of the 2011-12 season.
Masilela has been undergoing rehabilitation in South Africa, despite having a year remaining of his contract with top Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.
He spent last season on loan at Spanish La Liga side Getafe.
The intention is for him not to return to Israel, and the club has given him its blessing to find either a permanent transfer to a European team or another loan deal.
"There are a number of opportunities in Europe and that is the road that we are looking at," said the player's agent, Mike Makaab.
