Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni says patience will be key to victory against SuperSport United when they clash in the PSL on Wednesday.

The two South African giants meet for the second time in four days following this past weekend's MTN8 semi-final first-leg, which finished goalless at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Buccaneers and Matsatsantsa will now square up in the Premiership this week, but Sangweni feel Pirates need to slow down their approach against Gavin Hunt's men in order to carve out a positive result.

"Going into tomorrow's match we will have to be patient and not rush things," Sangweni told the club's official website.

"There were times in the match last week were we rushed our build ups whilst trying to get a good result - sometimes that can complicate things for us.

"We had a chat yesterday and we will try to be more patient with ourselves and play our normal football. We have beaten United before and I'm confident we can do it again."

A win for either side on Wednesday will come as a major boost ahead of this coming weekend's second-leg tie, and Sangweni hopes the Sea Robbers can give themselves a platform on which to build.

He added: "The game on Sunday is now water under the bridge. We are focusing on getting a good result and boost our morale for the game on Saturday.

"Obviously it won't be easy but I believe we have the players who can get the desired result."
