Former Orlando Pirates boss Ruud Krol has reportedly returned to South Africa after failing to agree to a deal to take over at Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
Initial reports revealed the 63-year-old has secured a one-year deal with the seven time Tunisian League winners, however, it has now come to light that the arrangement fell through over an issue of money.
Krol has been out of coaching since his treble-winning season with the Buccaneers in 2010/11 and was set to take over from the sacked Nabil Kouki with four games remaining in the Tunisia season.
He was removed from his post despite having lost just four of their 25 league matches so far this term.
The Sowetan have reported that: "Krol is returning to South Africa after he was not satisfied with the money CS Sfaxien were giving him."
Krol remained in South Africa after being sacked as Pirates boss as his daughter was studying in Johannesburg.
He had been linked to a number of PSL clubs in the interim including Platinum Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns.
