Moroka Swallows will consider a deal for former Orlando Pirates winger Dikgang Mabalane if he impresses while on trial with the PSL club.

The 32-year-old, who was released by Bucs last month, is in Soweto with Dube Birds coach Zeca Marques admitting they will take a look at the player before deciding whether or not to offer him a deal.

Mabalane, who has also played for Jomo Cosmos, Supersport United and Maritzburg Classic, also has one South Africa cap to his name.

He had one year left on his Pirates contract but after struggling for game time due to injury, he had his contract terminated.

Marques told The Sowetan: "Mabalane is here with us and we will look at him.

"We are not specifically looking for new players, I am very happy with the squad that I have got, but when the opportunity comes along to look at a player with his experience, then it is worthwhile giving it a go. If we believe he can improve on what we currently have, then we can sit down with him and discuss options."

After registering their interest in the player in June, Swallows opted rather to sign Maritzburg United's Felix Obada.

Pirates left back Lizo Mjempu is also training with the Birds.
