VETERAN Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga "Bhele" Nomvethe has been given the all-clear to play in Saturday's MTN8 final against Supersport United in Soweto.
Nomvethe suffered a toe injury when Swallows beat Orlando Pirates 3-0 at Orlando Stadium three weeks ago.
His return to action was confirmed yesterday by Swallows' medical chief Dr Ephraim Nematswerani.
"Bhele is starting to train today (yesterday); he is no longer feeling any pain. He has passed the medical assessment with flying colours.
"He will also be available for the final on Saturday. Everybody in the team is happy to have him back. The man has massive experience."
Nematswerani also gave attacking midfielder David Mathebula a clean bill of health for the final.
Mathebula made his first appearance for Swallows this season on Friday in the 3-2 league defeat by newcomers University of Pretoria.
"Mathebula came on as a second-half substitute. He is also not feeling any pain and we are happy. He has also been cleared to play in the final if selected," he said.
Bad news for Swallows though is that dribbling wizard Joseph Makhanya is out for the final against United on Saturday.
"It is not a major injury [torn ligament], but Dukuduku is out for the final," said Nematswerani.
"I was looking to play my first final since playing for Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Cup in Durban in 2005," Makhanya said.
"It is not the end of the world. I will still be at Orlando Stadium on Saturday to support my club. I urge our supporters to buy tickets; we must dominate in all departments - including the fan base."
