AJAX Cape Town winger Paul Rusike says he is fully focused on doing well for the club as they prepare to face Orlando Pirates in Soweto tonight.
The Zimbabwean international had a trial at Belgian side OH Leuven in August and was close to a move to Europe before the deal failed to materialise.
He says he has not allowed the disappointment of the failed move to affect him and for now he is thinking only about Ajax.
"All I am thinking about now is to play well for Ajax and help us move up the league table," Rusike told The Times.
"I really enjoyed my time in Belgium and it is still my ambition to play in Europe, if not in the January transfer window then at the end of the season.
"But for now I am just worried about getting into the Ajax side and doing well for them. We have a big game against Orlando Pirates and that is all I am thinking about - the next match."
Rusike says that a win in Soweto would be deserved for the Ajax side, who have been playing good football this season but have just one win to show for it.
"Pirates are a very good team, of course, but we know that we can beat them. We have that belief in our ability. The results have not been so good this season but maybe this is the game where our luck changes."
Rusike says his own performances have not been what he had hoped for and he is relishing the platform of a Pirates clash to show what he can do.
