Goalkeeper - Itumeleng Khune 7/10 - Almost let the euphoria that followed the opening goal get the better of him. His lapse of concentration before halftime almost let Manucho in, but his distribution was astounding.

Left back - Tshepo Masilela 4/10 - Both clear Angola chances came from crosses from his flank and he was often caught foraging too far forward.

Right back - Anele Ngcongca 5/10 - Had a quiet game but stuck to the task of keeping Geraldo equally quiet.

Defender - Bongani Khumalo 7/10 - The skipper had his most convincing performance since taking up the arm-band, and kept the dangerous Manucho in check.

Defender - Siyabonga Sangweni 8/10 - His goal quenched the nation's long thirst for a Bafana goal. Made sure Khune was only tested twice in the entire game, largely due to his improved defensive positioning.

Defensive midfielder - Dean Furman 8/10 - A breath of fresh air. Was never overwhelmed by the pressure nor by the occasion, and brought some of the aggression in midfield that was missing against Cape Verde.

Attacking midfielder - Bernard Parker 5/10 - Had a decent game for a player who gets tossed to different positions every time he starts. Over-elaborate at times.

Left wing - May Mahlangu 3/10 - He still doesn't know how to play with his national team-mates. Wasted a good counter-attack with his selfishness.

Right wing - Thuso Phala 5/10 - Speed is nothing without control and good decision-making on attack. Phala is missing the latter skills at the moment.

Forward -Tokelo Rantie 3/10 - Could have sealed Bafana's half of dominance by adding to Sangweni's goal but skied his attempt. He and Mphela seemed to be in each other's way.

Forward - Katlego Mphela 3/10 - It appears Gordon Igesund is willing to babysit him until he returns to full fitness - whether this will be to the detriment of the team, we've yet to see.

Central midfielder - Reneilwe Letsholonyane 5/10 - Came on for Mahlangu at half-time and stabilised the midfield.

Central midfielder - Oupa Manyisa N/A - Didn't play long enough to receive a rating.

Forward - Lehlohonolo Majoro 7/10 - Came on for Tokelo Rantie with 30 minutes left in the second half and gave SA the insurance goal they desperately needed.
