Modric moving to Spain, says Croatia coach
Spurs playmaker Luka Modric could soon be on his way to play in La Liga, the Croatia star's former team-mate Mate Bilic has revealed.
Bilic - who is a close friend of Modric - says the Tottenham ace has been in contact with a host of Spanish clubs and is set to make a move there after Euro 2012.
The experienced striker, who has played for a number of clubs in Spain, says Real Madrid are likely to secure a deal for the talented midfielder.
Harry Redknapp's sacking has also reignited interest from Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea, who have been chasing Modric's signature since last summer.
However, the Croatia international's compatriot, Bilic, is adamant that a move to La Liga is imminent.
"I'm very good friends with Modric," the Sporting Gijon forward told Daily Mail.
"He wants to play in the Spanish league. He loves the Premier League but he wants to play in Spain. He's very close to agreeing a move."
