Gonzalo Higuain hopes to play alongside Luka Modric at Real Madrid next season, with the Argentine striker once again quashing talk of his Bernabau exit.
Modric has expressed his desire to leave Tottenham during the current transfer window as he is desperate to play in the Champions League.
Los Merengues are thought to be leading the race to sign the Spurs playmaker, and Higuain believes he would fit in well at Madrid.
"I saw at Modric at Euro 2012 and also at Tottenham," he told AS.
"He is a player who loves the club and us. I wish to close the deal as quickly as possible if it is for the good of the team."
Higuain's future with the La Liga champions remains a topic of speculation, despite the player and Real boss Jose Mourinho's insistence he will not leave the club.
The 24-year-old has revealed that his desire to win a Champions League medal will see him remain in Madrid and challenge for a regular starting berth in one of Europe's most star-studded line-ups.
He added: "I do not regret anything I've lived here. I could fulfil dreams and win titles, hopefully this year we will be the Champions."
